Today, Nike Tennis celebrated Rafael Nadal’s historic French Open in spectacular style by revealing a life-sized sculpture of the Spaniard created from tennis-court clay.

Going into the match no one in history had ever won nine men's grand slam singles titles in Paris. Now, there is no disputing the greatest clay-court player of all time.

The sculpture of Rafa was installed in the window of the Cinquième Set store in the heart of Paris, accompanied by a plaque that reads:

Legends are made from different stuff

The sculpture itself is made from the same material that is used to create clay tennis courts, but not any clay court. The sculptors used clay provided by the company that creates the court surfaces where Nadal earned his historic triumph. The same surface that has cemented Nadal’s place among the greatest to have ever held a racket.
