Rafael Nadal - Stanislas Wawrinka Live As It Happened

ATP:

For the second straight match, seven-time Roland Garros champion Rafael Nadal put on a dominant display in Paris.
Nadal cruised through his quarter-final, brushing aside Stanislas Wawrinka 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 to move ahead 10-0 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head series. He has won all 22 sets they've played and will meet the man he defeated in last year's final, World No. 1Novak Djokovic, in a blockbuster semi-final.
Nadal is on a quest to become the first man in history to win the same Grand Slam trophy eight times. He improved to 57-1 record at the Paris major, with his lone defeat coming at the hands of Robin Soderling in the 2009 fourth round. Nadal has lost only two matches on tour this year, since his return from a seven-month injury lay-off in February. He has won six titles from eight tournaments.
In a re-match of the Mutua Madrid Open final, Nadal broke Wawrinka to open the contest. The third seed hit 13 winners to seven unforced errors and closed out the 39-minute first set with a love service game, firing an ace up the T. Wawrinka won just four of 20 points on his return.
The Mallorcan continued to open up the court with his inside out forehand and once again took command early in the second set. Wawrinka got back on serve in the sixth game, breaking Nadal for the first time when the left-hander double faulted. But Nadal quickly regrouped to win the next three games to earn a two-set lead.
After saving a break point in the first game of the third set, Nadal stepped on the gas to put away Wawrinka in one hour and 56 minutes. Nadal won 13 of his 16 net points and capitalised on seven of his 12 break point chances.
