Sorry about the quality! You would think Reuters would have a decent video stream.

Rafael Nadal says he is trying to recapture his best form but remains optimistic despite losing his Monte Carlo crown to Novak Djokovic on Sunday.

SHOWS: BARCELONA, SPAIN (APRIL 22, 2013)

(Catalan) RAFAEL NADAL:

"I did not feel angry or sad when I finished. I think I am still missing something, but I am playing my fifth tournament after all that has happened. I was playing against the fittest player at the moment and I had a chance to win the second set, and by that, the final. So my feelings are not negative."

(Catalan) RAFAEL NADAL:

"I am not good enough to change my way of playing. Each one has his way of playing and you can introduce some changes slowly in order to get better, and that is what I have tried all the way in my career. Getting better and more competitive on every court. But I can't cheat anyone and I haven't had much time to train."

(Catalan) RAFAEL NADAL:

"I think I am following the right path. Better than that. If I had known I'd be here again four months ago I would have cried. I have played five finals in a row, so I am better of thinking positively."

(Catalan) RAFAEL NADAL, ABOUT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE:

"Hopefully (it will be a Spanish final). It would be good for Spanish football. It would be good to see Real Madrid and Barca in the final because of what it means for our country. Hopefully they will both qualify and we will see them at Wembley."

NADAL LEAVING NEWS CONFERENCE

STORY: Rafael Nadal said on Monday (April 22) he was not sad or angry after world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia ended the player's eight-year reign at the Monte Carlo Masters with a clinical 6-2 7-6 victory in the final on Sunday (April 21).

"I did not feel angry or sad when I finished," said the Spaniard. "I think I am still missing something, but I am playing my fifth tournament after all that has happened. I was playing against the fittest player at the moment and I had a chance to win the second set, and by that, the final. So my feelings are not negative."

Nadal, 26, who returned to action in March after seven months out with injury, had enjoyed a 46-match winning streak at the claycourt Masters event before Djokovic prevailed to claim his first title in the principality.

"I am not good enough to change my way of playing. Each one has his way of playing and you can introduce some changes slowly in order to get better, and that is what I have tried all the way in my career. Getting better and more competitive on every court. But I can't cheat anyone and I haven't had much time to train," he said.

"I think I am following the right path. Better than that. If I had known I'd be here again four months ago I would have cried. I have played five finals in a row, so I am better of thinking positively," he added.

Nadal will be fighting for another title this week, the Barcelona Open, which he has won for seven out of the past eight years. He only missed it in 2010, when he did not play and the trophy went to Spaniard Fernando Verdasco.

He plays his opening match on Wednesday (April 24).

A big soccer fan and Real Madrid follower, he said he hoped for a Spanish final in the Champions League.

Barca face Bayern Munich on Tuesday (April 23) in the semi-finals first leg and Real Madrid face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

"Hopefully (it will be a Spanish final). It would be good for Spanish football. It would be good to see Real Madrid and Barca in the final because of what it means for our country. Hopefully they will both qualify and we will see them at Wembley," he said.
