Rafa & other players congratulate Babolat for their recent partnership with Roland Garros.
Babolat announce RG partnership
Babolat have announced a five-year collaboration with Roland Garros to become the official tournament ball supplier and offer stringing services to players
The world’s best have barely begun to trade blows on the hard stuff and the clay season is still but a red speck on the horizon, but thanks to our friends at Babolat, we’re already thinking about punishing-long rallies, the return of human hawk-eyes and hearing umpires utter ‘egalite’ instead of deuce.
That’s because French brand Babolat have just announced the beginning of a five-year collaboration with Roland Garros as of this year’s tournament, supplying the official ball of the French Open as well as providing stringing services for all players participating in the event.
Explaining the link-up, Eric Babolat, president and CEO of the company, said: “Part of our history is written on the clay courts of Roland Garros through our team of players who have often distinguished themselves in this tournament.
“In the past we have provided stringing services here, but now a new chapter in French tennis history is opening. All the players in the tournament, without exception, will play with a ball developed by Babolat and will benefit from our stringing service.”
And the fans are set to benefit too.
“For tennis fans, we will offer our first unique collection of Babolat and Roland Garros products," Babolat added. "This collaboration perfectly illustrates the positioning of Babolat: an expert brand offering tennis equipment for all types of players.”
