Nadal gives recognition to the balls in Paris from Babolat:
NADAL GIVES HIS APPROVAL OF NEW BABOLAT BALLS for FRENCH OPEN
French brand, one of Rafa’s sponsors, that replace old Dunlop balls.
Rafael Nadal travelled to Paris yesterday after having done his homework. The player from Manacor reached the finals of the last six tournaments since he suffered a tear of the isquiotibial muscle in his left leg during the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. Nadal likes to be among the first to practice on Philippe Chatrier, the main court at Roland Garros where he lifted five Musketeers’ Cups, the last one in 2010.
“I have a very special feeling upon entering the facilities because this is the major tournament on clay and because of the moments I experienced there”, he confesses. The tournament has changed the balls this year, from Dunlop to Babolat, a French brand that is also one of the seven personal sponsors of the ATP’s number 1.
During his break in the clay season (in all Masters 1000 on clay Dunlop is used), the tennis player tested the new ball for Paris, sent to him directly from the factory and gave it his go-ahead, because it takes well his spins and has a lively bounce.
