The Spanish national football coach Vicente de Bosque, Atletico Madrid, Rafael Nadal and mountainous Edurne Pasaban, the first woman crowned the world's 14 "eight thousand" on the planet, have been awarded the National Gala XXXI of Sport, held Monday at the Teatro Arriaga de Bilbao.

The Arriaga Theatre, neo-baroque style building built in the late nineteenth century, hosted the National Sports Gala XXXI, in a ceremony attended by the Mayor of Bilbao, Iñaki Azkuna.

The president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Alejandro Blanco, president of the Professional Football League (LFP) president of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, José Luis Bilbao, and the president of the AEPDE, Mari Carmen Izquierdo were present, too.

Similarly, there were representing his Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo, and goalkeeper David de Gea, who received an award for being proclaimed champions of Europe League and European Super Cup .

This Gala were clearly the best athletes of 2010, including also the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) Angel Maria Villar, "under whose mandate the Spanish football has achieved major successes"; selection national football, champions of Europe and members of the Spanish team swimming Mireia Belmonte and Erika Villaécija World Championship, and Rafael Munoz, who was not to be in the United States, and Duane Rocha, champions Europe.

"It was a fantastic year for Spanish football and for our sport. I am no athlete, I'm a leader. I was born here, educated here and I've played the best team in the world, Athletic. This prize is also of the technical ranks, "said Angel Maria Villar.

Meanwhile, the Bosque said that his task is the classification for Ukraine and Poland 2012, and this happens to win the Czech Republic in Grenada.

Likewise, Salamanca was considered "very difficult" to achieve the challenge of winning Euro, World and European Championships, something that no selection has achieved in history. "The first is to classify us, but we have good players and have been exemplary on and off the field," he said.

It also recognized the triathlete Javier Gomez Noya, World champion and runner-up in Europe, the sailor Blanca Manchon, World Champion RS: X (board sailing); il'atleta Arturo Casado, champions of Europe '1 .500 meters.
