Rafa Nadal was defeated today by his opponent Novak Djokovic, Rafa taking the first set 6-4, Novak taking the last two 6-3, 6-2, In three sets in the desert it was decided that Rafa would not receive his 19th 1000 Master Title.

On a more positive note Rafa did improve his performance in the desert from his semifinal loss to last year, he gained points, he defeated Juan Martin Del Potro after losing to him 3 in a row, I feel however that this match was definitely in his hands. Looking forward to Miami & then of course glorious clay!
