Rafa lost his first ATP World Tour Final, 3-6, 6-3, 1-6 to Roger Federer.
Rafa's Barclays World Tour Finals tournament was the best he's ever had, he definitely improved on this surface & his overall game to make to a final beating the top 8 players in tennis. Facing Roger Federer today was no small task. In the past Rafa has one game plan always serve & punish Roger's backhand. But today Roger stood his ground on the baseline, shortened the points.
Rafa just was not only aggressive enough but he seemed a bit tired to me.
I think that it was a good thing that Rafa played Roger now so close to the off season so that he can take from this game & improve for 2011, because whether we Rafa fans like to admit it or not, Roger Federer has improved, thanks to Paul Annacone, Pete Sampras' old coach. But you can best believe Rafa will improve like he always does. He's had an amazing season, better than 2008, 2010 was a very emotional roller coaster for us all. I can not wait until 2011 .. Thank You Rafa for the year you've given us & for the inspiration you exuberate.
Vamos Rafa ..see you in Espana!
