Nadal closes his big year in the Gala AS

Today is delivered IV AS Awards at the Palacio de Congresos Campo de las Naciones, from 21:00 pm (televised by Channel Four at 01:10). The football team, Nadal and Lorenzo, AS Sports Award, and Marquez (Promise) were chosen by readers. Paco Gento receive the Legend.

In the fourth edition of its Awards, AS honors the top athletes of 2010. So the creme de la creme of Spanish sport is meeting today in Madrid's Palacio de Congresos Campo de las Naciones, where the gala awards ceremony will start at 21:00 (Four will be televised beginning at 01: 10 h). The football team, Rafa Nadal and Jorge Lorenzo, AS Sports Award, and Marc Marquez in the Promise category, were the four chosen by Internet users in the web http://www.premiosas.com on its merits within and outside the South African golf, tennis and motorcycle circuits.

Paco Gento, the only player in history with six European Cups under his belt, will be recognized with the Legend Award for his exceptional human experience and successful career. After 18 seasons wearing the shirt of Real Madrid, get a new sign of respect when he takes the stage at the Heart of Iron produced by Xavier Mascaro.

Historic year.
After Roger Federer in London deprive him his first win in Masters Cup, Rafael Nadal has started a week of vacation and advertising commitments. The Spaniard closed his spectacular 2010 in which he won Roland Garros, Wimbledon and U.S. Open (the only Grand Slam that was missing from their windows), as the leading figure of Gala AS. Nadal will begin training with a view to 2011 on Monday, in his hometown Manacor, with a target between the eyes: the Australia Open, which Federer defends 2,000 points for winning, and where Rafa could extend their advantage over Swiss number one, and he retired played in the quarterfinals. Two other winners, Jorge Lorenzo and Marc Marquez, also put the finishing touch to their campaigns on the feast of AS. The two pilots, world champions in MotoGP and 125cc are in a time of impasse prior to spring training.

Celebrities that they are, we understand pretty faces, great champions, personalities and authorities, Nadal, Lorenzo and Marquez will meet from 20:00 pm, the rigorous protocol carried out in previous editions: come to the Palace, in car Hyundai brand and a half-hour interval, to parade on the red carpet for the accredited media. Prior to the flashes of the photocall, the newspaper's director, Alfredo Relaño, greet the guests.

Nico Abad and Raquel Sánchez Silva will lead the Gala, as last year. An event that will feature some tasty ingredients: music, dance, magic and humor.
