Federer praises Rafa’s ‘amazing season’

Roger Federer took some time out in Paris to pay respect to Rafael Nadal’s momentous achievements this season

Roger Federer may have had plenty to focus on this week at the Paris Masters, but still found time in his busy schedule to comment on the achievements of Rafael Nadal. Federer faces a potential showdown against Nadal at the ATP World Tour Finals at the end of the month, and there’s no doubt that Federer has plenty of respect for the Spaniard.

“Winning three Grand Slams in a year is something I’ve done a few times, and I know how hard it is to do. So it’s an amazing effort from his side”, remarked Federer. “Not only did he dominate there, but he’s won multiple other titles…He went through some tournaments where he was unbeatable, unreachable, which makes this a great season for him”.

Many Nadal fans may be a little irritated that Federer chose to mention his own achievements here, though Federer and Nadal clearly share a great mutual respect. The pairing will be taking part in a charity match showdown on December the 22nd.
