Shanghai: Lost so soon

10/14/2010Rafaholics

Nadal beaten by Melzer in Shanghai,  6-1, 3-6, 6-3, although I am in no rush to post this, I knew that the smaller events would catch up to him & they have, going to Thailand & Japan might have been great for the fans but it definitely has hurt him in the bigger events.I will say it again that Rafa was doing well all year long, but after the USOpen I don't agree with his scheduling.  He needs to strictly focus on 1000 event0 & the majors. Now whats next? Paris that's a month away..I wont take this as oh well.. this is embaressing when he loses to Melzer & Garica-Lopez. Not only in ranking wise, skill, & achievements!

What Rafa had to say:
“This isn’t a surprise for me. I didn’t play well, “said Nadal. “I felt slow on court and I made more mistakes than usual. In general, I am a little bit more tired than usual, physically and mentally.
“You can’t expect to win every week. All the good work is done for me for the year.”

"I felt slow on court, I had more mistakes than usual. I played shorter than usual. I was a little bit more tired than usual, just physically and mentally. I just want to congratulate him. It's true, he played very aggressive, but it wasn't very difficult to play that aggressive against me today."

"I am very, very happy about what happened to me during all the year. Two tournaments remain for me. I will enjoy these ones and try to play better than today."
