The telegraph has an article on Rafa & the rest of the Spaniards sporting dominance this year..this is the excerpt on Rafa:
Rafa Nadal being taken off the Baleares Tourism stand in London
The World Travel Market gets underway in London in two weeks
Photos of Rafa Nadal are being replaced on the stand for the Baleares at the World Travel Market in London which gets underway in a fortnight.
One of the hoteliers on the islands told El Mundo that ‘It seems that they have not paid Nadal what was agreed and that is why they have to take him down’. It seems the advertising contract is on ‘stand by’, but the hotelier has said that it is almost as expensive to redesign the stand as to pay the player what he is owed.
The contract is reported to have been worth six million € over three years and was signed two years ago, to use the image of the World Number One tennis player and see him in TV ads for the islands.
Meanwhile Turespaña, the national Spanish tourist board has now also showed an interest in using the player.
Nadal has also been named as the second most influential sportsman in the world in a poll at www.askmen.com. He was beaten only by the American football player, Drew Brees.
