Rafel Nadal enjoys his holiday in Majorca before addressing the North American tour with the U.S. Open, the last Grand Slam of the season, as a target. The tennis player from Manacor is recovering from his knee problems to rest and play golf, just like yesterday when he participated in the Tournament Renault Llucmajor, for the benefit of ADAA (non-profit association to aid companion sick of the Balearic Islands) and was held at the Marriott Golf Son Antem.
By midmorning, Nadal made a break in the 4th hole to regain strength. The Mallorcan attended the media, but especially the fans who approached for autographs or take a picture with him.
"Recovery? Well, but until I reach the tournaments I really will not know, " said Nadal,who already think of the indoor season: " At the moment we are going day by day, try to start properly and see if we do things well in two tournaments before the U.S. Open. And then we'll see what happens there. "
Nadal, however, is not obsessed with winning the only Grand Slam that he is missing.
"I have no spine, I am not bound to win the big four. I've won three, which is more than I imagined in my life and am very happy with everything I've achieved. I will do my best to get there and have any chance of winning the tournament. But it is not an obligation nor an obsession. I love to win, is an illusion, " he said.
On the Elimination of Spain in Davis Cup, the Spaniard said:
"We had two consecutive years winning it. The players did an important job, but there was no reward. I am saddened by the defeat and for my teammates, but you can not always win."
The Spaniard also spoke of Mallorca, the club of which now is a shareholder.
"It's a new project, is the illusion of home. The serious people are working to make things work when the season starts," he said. Finally, he recalled his presence at the World Cup final in South Africa: "It was a historic moment, exciting, watching it on the stadium was unforgettable."
