'I like the selection because it is ours, not one or the other'
Hello Rafa! Thanks for being an excellent person. I wish you well in this tournament, you deserve it. I would like to know what you think about the ups and downs that have 'Top ten' are having this far. Big hug from Colombia. Marena.
I always say that tennis is a very complicated sport and one to remain on the top is very difficult because everyone plays very well here.
Hello, congratulations on all your success. Did someone send you the copy of 'The Guardian' where the 2008 Wimbledon final is among the 10 most memorable moments in sports history? It was fantastic! Good luck.
No, nobody sent me. I'll ask Benito to get it for me. Thank you very much.
Hola Rafa. We know you love football and you've said you're watching the World Cup. Which team is the one you liked so far? If you Spain falls, which one would you support?
Let's hope Spain will go through and of course, wins the World Cup.
Hi Rafa, first of all thanks bringing us joy. My question if isit worthwhile to fight so much in a set? " Is it for money, points, or is the simple and admirable spirit of competition? Do you liked the Spanish with Luis Aragonés, or Del Bosque? Thanks, you're the best this country has in its sports history, courage and go on.
This question is easily answered. I play because I have the motivation to compete, to win, to have those feelings on the court. I do not think anybody at this level think of the money, I certainly don't. So the answer is, competitive spirit. And the selection of Luis Aragones won a tournament. Hopefully it will be the same with Del Bosque. I like the selection because it is ours, not one or the other. They represent Spain!
After seeing the longest match in history, what you think is the best way to decide the outcome of five-set matches in a Grand Slam, by two games difference like in Australia, France and Wimbledon or tie- break like in the U.S.? Thank you very much and good luck, Rafa.
I like it like it's here. Mahut and Isner match has been epic and unique. I think it is fantastic.
Hello Machine! I know you never talk about personal issues or politics but could you tell me if you are aware of the bad situation that we have with so many young people in Spain? What do you think about? You're a humble person, with determination and hard working, the best example for our generation. Keep it up, strength and honor!
Of course I know about the situation in Spain. It's something that concerns us all. It would be foolish not knowing or not wanting to see. Hopefully soon we will go forward
First I wanted to congratulate you for your tenacity, perseverance and dedication to play best for every point. After a difficult year you have you managed to recover and return to the number one at Roland Garros, a tournament that accumulated many experiences and emotions. I have just two questions. What foods should you eat before the match and how much earlier? When do you plan to return to Manacor to spend a few days off? Encouragements at Wimbledon and thank you.
Thank you for the comments. Before the matches we do not usually eat much. Some pasta and maybe some fish, but not much. I eat one and a half hours before the match. And as regards your second question,I I'll return to Manacor when Wimbledon ends.
Hi Rafa, do you think return game on grass is crucial for someone with your style of play? Why do you use the backhand slice at Wimbledon more compared to RG? A hug champion.
It is crucial for everyone, not just for my style of play. Of course, for the big servers is less crucial, but ... The BH slice in Wimbledon is a blow that may be used as an attack. On the clay is different, less effective and more defensive, but that carries a lot of danger because it can attacked more.
In Spain we dream of a Spaniard with the four Grand Slam. And although I suppose that right now only you think about Wimbledon, Is USO one of your short or long-term priority?
Now I only think about Wimbledon. Then in Toronto, Cincinnati and then at the U.S. Open. We'll talk then, ok?

Hi Rafa. The other day I saw you were not at the pre-Wimbledon part for the WTA in London, where Verdasco went to. Do you not like to go to these parties? Out of curiosity, are they mandatory for sponsors? The best of luck for the Wimbledon
I do not play the WTA circuit so going would be rare.I don't know what was Fer's motive to go. I imagine he has some interest .... On the other hand, I was not even in London the day if I'm not mistaken. Some parties are obligatory on the circuit, such as Monte Carlo.
