'It's better if Isner and Mahut ends today'
Hola Rafa. Impressive match between Isner and Mahut. How can they endure on the track this long without fainting. Do they take some kind of food or vitamin supplement during the match? How can they recover for the next day?
It has been, well, sorry, is being unbelievable. We were watching at home and we also watched football. We played the 'Play', we prepared the dinner and there were still playing. Unbelievable. Anyway, it would have been better for them if they had finished today, not so late yesterday. If not, they will play tomorrow another whole match. If they finish today fast, they will be able to rest to play the following day more whole.
Hola Rafa: on one occasion he was coach of Real Madrid, B. Shuster said that Real Madrid had to play like Federer goes tennis. I believe that if you heard that it would have made you feel bad, at least it did for me because I know that you are very fan of Madrid and because you are number one without underestimating Federer, who is a great player. . Thanks and still and forever. Congratulations because you are a great champion. Pepe O.M.
No, not at all. On the contrary. The comment for nothing doesn't bother me at all. Federer is a phenomenon.
Multi-surface Champion! As much as they say, are the best not only on clay but also on hard and grass. Even so, have you ever thought about getting different coaches for different surfaces, like other players? You're a crack, and an example for all the Spanish. All the best! Rocio Puerta
No, no. I am very happy with Toni and Toni Francis when Toni is not there. I don't think having a different coach for different surfaces would work for me.
Congrats great champion for your excellent clay season! Greetings from Guatemala, a country where tennis is a bit difficult to play! My question or questions would be: Would you like a 1000 Masters on grass? Would you like to the November finals tol be played on various surfaces? and would greatly appreciate if you include Paris Bercy in your calendar . I have planned to travel to France in November. We champion for it in the Cathedral! Byron Melgar.
It would be nice, right? The thing that is hard to put it in the calendar. Imagine. So many points in 3 / 4 weeks of the year! Madness.
Hi Rafa, I'm Spanish but living in London and, specifically, in Wimbledon. I wonder if you give me a couple of passes! Just kidding! My question is do you think people in Spain tends to focus on disaste and excessive criticism too rapid. I mean for you and for the selection. Spoiled? or rude? A hug champion, train and hope to see you out one win
Jajajajaja. Sure that you are of the same place as Benito... Do not you cut your hair, eh? (some sort of spanish saying?) Unfortunately they give us very few pass and they are already all given away. As for your comment, I dunno. It is true that we are very critical and demanding. I always say you need to know how to be in the victory and the defeat, and there would be excessive compliments when you win or too many negative reviews lost, it always has to be moderate. That's my opinion and my way of acting.
Hello Champion. I have a curiosity to ask. I remember a lot about your beginnings, when your English was not your forte. However, a few years here, I saw that you are a master. How did you get there in so little time, taking into account the hours dedicated to training you and your team is formed by Spanish, fluent in English? Do you read books or watch movies with subtitles? I could really use some advice of yours. Oh, and good luck for Wimbledon! Inma.Alcala de Henares.
The to travel and the to practice it for obligation is what has done me to improve, what called the street life. It's harder when I do not speak of tennis. They tell me that the best is to swatch movies in English with subtitled because you hear it. But when I begin to watch a series or a movies I don't to it to learn, so... In my case, has been to travel and the obligations.
Congratulations, champion for the fifth Roland Garros. Thanks for letting us enjoy tennis in each tournament. My mother at 80 years is a big fan of yours, doesn't miss a single match, whatever the time it is. Wakes up early,m stays up late. My question is (my mother): THe racket strings vary to play on grass, hard court or clay? Maria Pena.
Thank you very much. At least this week will not have to get up early if you are in Europe ... Yeah, it varies. Changes the tension a bit. In my case, almost nothing, half a kilo
Rafa, you applied the tactic against Soderling to perfection! Why does grass effect you bounce (ball)? I notice that many of your balls go to the net. Finally (and very important!): Have you considered calling Del Bosque, or a team player, to send you support? The media environment can confuse them a bit, I think you can contribute with your perspective, your mindset, your confidence. Julian GC
I am in contact with some players from the selection. Hopefully on Friday we get to the next round. As the bounce is a matter of the grass. Here you have to bend over because the ball has much less bounce.
Greetings Rafael. I'd like to ask how you've changed technically your forhand to compete on grass, and if you really hit it "flatter" ... and what type of service is most effective for you on grass? A hug and thanks for being an example to all. Xavier
Yes, you have to hit flatter but it is not always so. Here the ball bounces much less and it's less effectice.
Rafa, my family and I live in USA and my son who also plays tennis, they call the "españolito", always supporting you and admire your two great strengths in the court, always respect your opponent and your integrity and control. This last one we never obtained with our son obtains, who at 13 is a good player. Please, what is a trick not to lose the control in the court. Thank you very much and much luck! María Luz Andrés García.
Always think point to point. Forget the previous one because what you have to do is win the next. The control must be taken because you have to think about winning.
