'I'm going to Wimbledon with a hope to play well'
Rafa Nadal said, shortly before boarding a plane to London his next tournament at Wimbledon, the least of his concern is to keep the number 1 ranking he occupies and he wants to continue adding to his lead.
"The number one I will keep no matter what happens and is not an issue that could worry me in this tournament. What worries me is that I play one of the most important tournaments of the year and I would like to be well and keep adding points, it gives me a cushion to the end of the year," Nadal said at the airport of Palma.
The player has insisted he will try to play at Wimbledon at his best level, as he always does "I will do everything possible to train in these days leading up to Tuesday and get the best preparation possible," has had an impact.
The tennis player from Manacor also referred to the season that is over and stressed that it developed better than expected. "On clay everything has been perfect (has won three straight 1000 Masters and Roland Garros) and I'm very happy with how things went. Now, I face a very different tournament, with very few days of preparation, though I'm under the illusion play well," he said.
