'The tournament should do something against the rain '

1. Hola Rafa. My question: I heard during the broadcast commentators say that your team had taken into account certain aspects of the service of Murray to improve your serve. Is this true? And if so, what aspects are they? Good luck champ. Melina Abellán (Cordoba, Argentina)

I like to always improve and both my uncle and I are watch things. As well as looking at specific things, Murray's serve or Djokovic or Federer's game ... is normal.

2. Hi Rafa, you're a fantastic. Have you seen on Internet video of Djokovick and Troicki. In general, does seem very funny but I liked it. What do you think? Lennys Gomez

Hombre, I think this time is not so funny compared to what we have become accustomed to, but I know it was very well received. If Marc Lopez comes with me I'll also do one ... I can not convincehim ...

3. Rafa, I'm a big fan. Why are you wearing the headband even when you have short hair? Carlos Izquierdo Balboa

It's shorter than before but it's still long. Moreover, just for the sweat not fall on your face.

4. Hello, Rafa. I've always given the impression that when you face Spanish players, they feel very threatened, so do not bring their best game. What do you think of that? Do you remember your most difficult game against a fellow Spaniard? Regards and good luck at Roland Garros. Elena Nieto Esteban

I do not think so. I have had many tough matches and I have also lost. Without going any further, against Almagro in Madrid this year was tough. And if you remember Verdasco in the semi-finals in Australia last year!

5. I have always been impressed by your ability to remember every point of every match you've played. How do you do it? Is it an innate ability or you've trained to do so? How do you use that skill? Do you check the points in your mind or with your coach and decide what you could have done differently or better? Good luck at Roland Garros and in every tournament you play. Elise Berkow

Yes, it's one thing I always remember. Not all of them, but of the majority. I Just remember ...

6. I saw a video of you playing cards with other players during rain delay. Were you playing the mus or another game? Relaxing atmosphere, I liked it. Goof luck in Roland Garros and thanks!!

Yes, in the locker room when it rains, we play cards. Here at Roland Garros there is a camera spinning around.

7. I do not believe I have the chance to ask you a question, Rafa Nadal. My question is: when will there be a roof for the courts of Roland Garros? Is not it a shame what they earn so much each year and they not done so? Do you consider it a lack of respect for you, the players and to to us, the spectators ? I think so. Thank you very much to assist me. Kisses and good luck. Marina Caruana Pla

I do not know, I think there is a project. By the way, water is falling right now as I'm writing ... I do not think its a lack of respect, just something they should do ... It is also for the public, the TV, people who follow the matches.

8. How does it affect what they say about you in the newspapers, especially the negative criticism? Greetings from Sydney. Rafael Contreras Rodriguez.

Nothing. I worry about what I do and how I feel, not what is written (for better or for worse).

9. Hola Rafa. Congratulations on your victory against Hewitt. I admire you a lot, you're a role model on and off the court. My questions are: what do you do before every game? and why do you always choose to receive the serve at the start of the match? Thank you for this opportunity you give us. Reina Cadenas Vielma

Thank you very much. Before every game I try to be ready and well. Nothing special, out of my routine. And I choose to receive because I prefer to begin with playing. Besides if I break the service, better, because I have that advantage...

10. Hi Rafa, Do you think that one day may give the stroke and with a little luck you will win the Masters Cup knowing the difficulty of the court for your type of game? Is it possible to increase the speed of serve with a training? Thanks and best regards champ.

Whenever I go to a tournament (I hope to be in the Masters again) I attempt to win it. I know it's hard but no more than others that I have achieved. As speed is possible, but it's not all about speed.

'I gained depth and lost spin with the new strings'

1. Hola Rafa. Some experts think that balls are playing with more depth and less 'spin' than in previous years. They think this will help you on hard courts, but not on clay. Do you agree? Know that I think you're great on clay. Thank you. Ben Garner

Hello. Yes, I think that the strings are helping me to get more depth, and certainly also seems to give less 'spin'. I guess one thing for another. The truth is I'm happy with these strings.

2. Hola Rafa. Thanks for letting us enjoy tennis. I wonder what you think about God and if you believe in Him? And if it is possible to know what is your religion? Thanks for taking your time for us. Good luck at Roland Garros. Never stop believing in you. Greetings from Costa Rica. Lili Sanchez

Hi Lili. I do not usually talk about persona matters and understand that this is a very personal matter, so I prefer not to talk about these matter. I hope you understand. I appreciate your understanding.

3. Hello Rafa: does your right hand ever tremble when your are trying to throw the ball up when serving for the match (when you were 16 years old), ¿could you control it? How did you do it? You throw the ball with all the hand or with three fingers? Thanks and a lot of luck María

Sure, and I still shake! You have to know how to control nerves. This can also be learned.

4. Are you aware that for us, the Spaniards, who love tennis you are a really big illusion? We are proud of you and the entire team of Spanish players. Have you ever thought to change your residence for tax purposes, as it had previously been done by other elite athletes? I trust not, because you are an example of ethics and responsibility for all your followers. A title, you deserve to spare. Emiliano Arribas

Thank you very much for your comment. The truth is that I have always said and maintain that the best place in the world to live is to Mallorca and the Balearic Islands, so I won't change. But also respect the decision of any person. They are entitled to do whatever they want and live where they choose.

5. Hola Rafa. You put a 2004 photo to your profile on Facebook, where you are wearing sleeveless shirt and talk about regaining that spirit. As you know, the Indians made war paint, and dress affects psychologically. Do not you think that would help you recover that spirit back, sleeveless and piratas? The clothing you are wearing right now is too "Federer" A strong embrace from Mallorca. Jaume Llompart

NO, it has nothing to do with the shirt and pirate pants. It was rather because that year (it was not 2004 but 2006) I was happy with the game and did well. That picture was taken after press conference, returning back to the locker room. Anyway, I think my clothing is not like Federer, seriously!

6. Hi Rafa, I write in various forums and try to read what they write, but often not possible. Anyway, my question is this: in addition to all the rituals you have on court, do you have any off the cpirt? Well thank you very much for attending me and win Roland Garros, Wimbledon, U.S. Open ... And whatever you set your mind because with your attitude and the way you are you can get what you set your mind to. Good luck . Israel Ballester.

I do not think I have rituals outside of the court. You should ask someone who may be next to me ...

7. Hello Rafa! I wish you successes in this second week. Why the majority of the balls that you hit with your 'drive' behind the baseline you finish it over your head but when you are inside the baseline finishes blow, across the shoulder? Many thanks. Emmanuel Confusion

I wish they were all across the shoulder. Toni tells me that a lot. It depends how well (or bad) I'm hitting and also depends on the need for topspin I want to give the ball.

8. Uep Rafalet!! Because so many changes lately-shirt colors, why don't you put one with the flag of Manacor or Mallorca? Courage and good luck, champ. Joan Tur Alomar
Jajajaja. Yes, the truth is that some times they has the colors.

9. Hello, Rafa. I guess you like to review the video of the matches, to learn from mistakes and draw conclusions. Which of your performances you've seen most often and why? Regards, crack. Marta Tarín Cañadas

Not much, but it's true that sometimes I do watch. Depends on the game, the opponent, how I am, how much I want to see the match.

10. Hello, Rafa. Here at home we are fascinated with your tennis, your fighting spirit and indomitable character. And now comes the World Cup. We know your calendar, but if that Spain reached the final in South Africa on July 11th (just a week after the Wimbledon final), we would like to know what you're going to do and if you would be willing to travel to attend live. All the love of the world champion. Pedro Martín Laguna
Then we will be in France for the Davis Cup, so hopefully will watch the final from there!
