Rafa's answers:

"One is not always at 100% and you have to accept it. I'm lacking a more defined game scheme."

"Did I lose strength? I don't know. Sometimes your battery runs down and you have to buy new ones. And it's what I'm going to do for next year, recharge the batteries. I'll work hard to recover and be at 100%"

"To have the control in every point is not something I've done during my career. I'm not a Djokovic that attacks all the match, I have my style of playing and I won't change it now."

Regarding DP and Federer waiting to know if they'd qualified to SF

"I watched last three games so I can't say anything about it. I think it was a little strange to wait to know the results. This is not good for anyone."

About the pain in his back

"I felt pain in my back, then I felt something when serving and it hurt me when hitting the backhand. I haven't still treated the pain because I had to do the antidoping control first."

About the Ranking

"It doesn't matter to finish the year Nº2 or Nº3, if you'd finished at Nº1 it would be great, of course it would be special. I've been there for a long time. I want to be competitive and play a lot of tournaments."

"I'm in perfect conditions to start next year at 100%, with motivation. I'm the same but I've lost the rhythm I had last year."

About his weight

"I'm the same weight, I look thinner cause of the new clothes. Since 2005 that I'm 85, 86 kilos. The thing is when you're winning you look stronger and things are much more easier."

About DC

"I'm confident, it's going to be a different Final. The transition to clay is going to be complicated but I have the motivation to finish the year winning and to have the opportunity to play well on clay and win something for my country."

"I remember I was scared when I came out on court with the Spanish Flag (I was 12, 13 years old) It was a special atmosphere, I'd never been in a competition such as DC before and I enjoyed it a lot. It was something beautiful that I will ever remember."

Asked about if he was dissapointed with this tournament

"It's disappointing if you're here thinking you have a great opportunity to win, but I didn't have that feeling."

"Before coming here, I knew it was going to be a very difficult tournament and I didn't stop trying. No one can say the opposite. I tried it in every training session and in every match. I'm playing against the best players and in this surface it was not enough."

"I don't want to forget any tournament, only the ones I couldn't play because of injury. This tournament left me with different feelings and with the opportunity that I have to find out what I have to do to play better and start the next season better. I have to be more competitive in this surface."
